Carbonix ("Carbonix", "we", "us", "our") operates carbonixsolution.com (the "Site") and our carbon accounting and ESG reporting platform (the "Service"). This policy explains what personal data we collect, why, and the choices you have.

1. Who we are

Carbonix, having its registered office at Panjab University, Chandigarh 160014, India, is the data controller responsible for your personal data under India's Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 and, where applicable, other data protection laws.

2. Data we collect

Contact form data: name, work email, company name, and message content when you submit our contact form.
Usage data: pages visited, time on site, referring URL, device and browser type — collected via analytics once you accept cookies.
Cookies: small files stored on your device to remember your cookie preference and, if accepted, to power analytics. See Section 6.
Platform data: if you become a customer, the emissions, utility, and production data you upload to the Service — governed additionally by your Master Service Agreement.

3. How we use your data

To respond to enquiries submitted through our contact form.
To operate, maintain, and improve the Site and Service.
To send you information you've requested (e.g. a BRSR guide) — never unsolicited marketing without consent.
To understand aggregate site usage via analytics.
To comply with legal obligations.

4. Legal basis

We process personal data on the basis of your consent (e.g. submitting the contact form, accepting cookies), our legitimate interest in operating and improving the Site, and, for customers, performance of a contract.

5. Sharing your data

We do not sell personal data. We may share it with:

Service providers who process data on our behalf — currently Formspree (our contact-form and newsletter handler, based in the United States), our hosting provider, and, only after you accept cookies, our analytics provider. Regulators or authorities where required by law.

6. Cookies

We use a minimal set of cookies:

Strictly necessary: remembers your cookie consent choice (stored locally in your browser).
Analytics (only after you accept): helps us understand how visitors use the Site. These only load after you click "Accept all" on our cookie banner.

You can withdraw consent at any time by clearing your browser's local storage for this Site, or by using your browser's cookie controls.

7. Data retention

Contact-form enquiries and newsletter signups submitted through this Site are stored by Formspree and retained according to Formspree's data-retention policy (see the link in Section 5). We hold no separate copy on our own servers. Customer platform data, if you become a customer, is retained per the terms of your Master Service Agreement.

8. Your rights

Subject to applicable law, you may request access to, correction of, or erasure of your personal data, or object to certain processing. To exercise these rights, email contact@carbonixsolution.com.

9. Security

We use reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect your data. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

10. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by updating the "Last updated" date above.
